16mm Wedding Films

I'm Ed, a filmmaker and photographer specializing in weddings, based in Birmingham, Alabama, and traveling worldwide.

As an analog film wedding videographer, I film exclusively on 16mm because it has a larger frame and film negative than Super 8, which results in more detail and more latitude in post, giving me more to work with when it comes to color grading and cropping. It's the same format independent filmmakers used throughout the 20th century.

I shoot 16mm because it's the perfect combination of classic film colors with sharp clarity through vintage lenses. This gives the footage a cinematic weight that feels intentional and beautiful. Shooting weddings on 16mm Kodak motion picture film gives the film a life and soul you can feel. My films are shot and edited with strong attention to detail and a particular artistic, nostalgic vibe.

I'm 16mm wedding filmmaker with a strong artistic point of view that shows in my work.

I love niche films, experimental music, graphic design, vintage fashion, travel, food, Letterboxd, and Spotify. I'm also slowly collecting vinyl records and cassette tapes. I'm a deep thinker who loves analyzing and deconstructing technicalities and concepts.

I'm based in Birmingham, Alabama and shoot weddings throughout the Southeast and destinations worldwide. While recent work has taken me to Vail, Colorado, Palm Beach, Florida, Newport, Rhode Island and Dallas, Texas, I have a particular interest in France, Italy, New York, and destinations with a strong sense of place and culture.
